The Teacher Corps

"This training of mind and education of spirit is carried on from the worlds of human origin up through the system mansion worlds and the other spheres of progress associated with Jerusem, on the seventy socializing realms attached to Edentia, and on the four hundred and ninety spheres of spirit progress encircling Salvington. On the universe headquarters itself are numerous Melchizedek schools, the colleges of the Universe Sons, the seraphic universities, and the schools of the Teacher Sons and the Union of Days. Every possible provision is made to qualify the various personalities of the universe for advancing service and improving function. The entire universe is one vast school."

The Urantia Book

The Teacher Corps is the corps of celestial instructors sent to help us learn the value lessons set forth in the curriculum of the Urantia branch of the Melchizedek University as we find it through The Teaching Mission. Their arrival was announced in Los Angeles on February 1, 1992, by Teacher Ham in his memorable address, "Welcome to Change."

There is hierarchy in the universe, with the Universal Father in Paradise as Creator over all. Situated on the outer rim of the seventh superuniverse, our local universe of Nebadon is the domain of Michael, the Creator Son whom we know as Jesus of Nazareth. In the Teaching Mission, his consort, the Divine Minister, is affectionately referred to as Nebadonia, in honor of their creation of Nebadon. The firstborn son of our local universe parents is the Father Melchizedek, of the Order of Melchizedeks, who serve the worlds of time and space in many capacities, and in the Teaching Mission, our current Planetary Prince Machiventa Melchizedek, with Christ Michael, oversees the curriculum used by the Teacher Corps. Members of the Teacher Corps are highlighted in this section.

There are many more Teachers in the Teaching Mission than these highlighted below, but these brief descriptions will serve to give you an idea of the company we enjoy with the Teacher Corps assigned to our watchcare and development. Also depicted are Michael and Nebadonia, our local universe parents, the Midwayers, as well as Celestial Artisans. Teachers Iruka, Veronica, Linnel, Norsen, Jared, Anastacia, Ordon, Sigma, Bertram and Malcolm as well as many others poured themselves out upon the Urantia landscape into our minds, hearts, souls and our very way of life in response to Teacher Ham's "Welcome to Change" announcement. We were made ready for the new millennia and are ready for a new dispensation and a new epoch. We are awakened, thanks to the Teacher Corps.

All of the delightful artwork used to depict the spirit of The Teacher Corps below was found and more can be seen at the Great Masters Gallery website. The image above is by Edward Robert Hughes (1851-1914), entitled "Night."

TEACHER ABRAHAM

Abram was a military man with kingly ambitions who lived in Canaan during the epoch prior to Christ in which humanity worshipped many Gods. When Prince Melchizedek came to our world to teach the concept of One God, he chose Abram as his protégé and changed his name to Abraham. Over time, Abraham founded the Jewish race nation, which embraced the One God concept, thus paving the way for the message of Jesus when he arrived 2000 years later. Teacher Abraham first appeared to the New Zealand group in 1990, but since January 1995, he has been teaching in the Woods Cross, Utah community. His teachings are consistently Jesusonian.

TEACHER HAM

Sometimes referred to as "Father Ham," this teacher is beloved by all. It was Teacher Ham who asked for an audience with the Urantia Fellowship, which resulted in his memorable "Welcome to Change" address in February 1992 in Los Angeles, announcing the beginning of "The Correcting Time." Ham oversees the assignments of teachers of the Teacher Corps to groups with favorably suited transmitter /receivers. His messages were the first to pour forth, through his pupil and primary T/R "Rebecca," initially in Woods Cross, then out of Nashville, Tennessee, until 2005. We still hear from Ham occasionally, although not nearly often enough. We love him dearly.

TEACHER WILL

Teacher Will, "who loves you," is a female member of the Teacher Corps. She came to the Tallahassee, Florida, group soon after the onset of the Teaching Mission and was a prolific teacher for many years. Her initial lessons, focusing on small acts of kindness, galvanized the group into a dynamic source of loving social ministry, including efforts with a soup kitchen and with Habitat for Humanity. Early on, a daybook was produced from Teacher Will's lessons that was later edited by Fred Harris and Byron Belitsos and published. "The Center Within" compares the Teaching Mission lessons and the Urantia Papers. It is still in print.

TEACHER WELMECK

Teacher Welmek is another beloved Teacher, one of the earliest and most respected Teachers in the Teacher Corps. He began his ministry with a group in Indianapolis, Indiana; his influence spread far and wide. He continues to serve in the Indianapolis area as well as significantly contributing to the spiritual welfare of the Northern California TeaM efforts. Welmek is skilled at drawing people out, asking for opinions and creating tapestries of morontia imagery before the mind's eyes of his students, all of whom adore him.

TEACHER AARON

Teacher Aaron is an ascendant mortal who served as a personal teacher before becoming a group teacher. Teacher Aaron first began teaching in the Spokane, Washington, area in September 1992 and served there until 1997 when the group disbanded. In 2000-2001, Aaron assisted in the revival of the Spokane group, and now serves the Southeast Idaho Teaching Mission group. Teacher Aaron is skilled at asking questions, eliciting responses from his students, and drawing them into conversation.

TEACHER DANIEL

Teacher Daniel has been teaching the Southeast Idaho Teaching Mission base since the very start, back in 1992. Daniel is reputed to have been a Physician in his mortal life. He has had a series of excellent T/R's, beginning with Rutha who passed the torch to Isaac when she translated, then Isaac passed the torch onto his daughter PamElla when he went on to Mansonia. Daniel has been well served through all of these T/R's. For two years Daniel co-taught with Teacher Tomas during Tomas' internship, after which time he was joined by Minersia, a Melchizedek teacher-in-residence, as well as Teacher Aaron.

TEACHER ELYON

Teacher Elyon serves one of the most long-standing teacher bases in the Teaching Mission -- Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. This group benefits from the ministries of Elyon's primary T/R, Jonathan, who is a long-term student of the Urantia text, and a well-read student of theology whose mind lends stability to the lessons and the group. However, other T/R's serve the Coeur d'Alene group with equal skill and enthusiasm; it has been meeting regularly since the first year of the Teaching Mission. Under Elyon's tutelage, the group was the first to go public with the Teachers, hosting a public forum to introduce the community to the practice of Stillness, complete with demonstrations of the T/R'ing process. Very musically inclined, the group has sponsored musical events and has also taken the Teaching Mission into the local houses of worship. Elyon is gracious and wise and we are fortunate to have him as one of our Teachers.

TEACHER JAREL

Teacher Jarel has held forth in the community of Arcadia, California, for a good long time. Its founders, now translated to Mansonia, were well-loved members of the Urantia community. Their tradition of graciousness continues in this next generation. Since Teacher Jarel's base is in a frequently visited area in Southern California, not far from Los Angeles, quite near Disneyland, they get many visitors, which affords Jarel the opportunity to address many and varied questions. The members of the group are serious students with childlike hearts. Young and old, they flock to hear him and gain strength from his stable guidance. He has been served over the years by two very excellent T/Rs, Henry Z and George B.

TEACHER ANATOLIA

Teacher Anatolia has served in several teacher bases. She served with the group in Columbus, Ohio, and later co-taught with Teacher Tomas in Central New Mexico. She has also visited many other groups and frequented conferences. She is very sensitive to the influences of her students in terms of their earlier religious beliefs, and their social or cultural conditioning, and has a highly refined sense of humor.

TEACHER PAULO

Paulo's tenure with the Spokane Teacher Base was short-lived but he made a profound impression. His specialty was "rebellion" and we tend to regard rebellion as a negative quality, but Paulo gave us a new look at an old topic, indicating that rebellion can be a good thing. Rebelling against a stagnant status quo, against subjugation, oppression, ignorance or evil is a desirable trait. He still visits on occasion but professes to spend most of his time in service in areas where conflict runs hard and deep.

TEACHER TOMAS

Tomas' service to Urantia began on Valentine's Day 1993; Albuquerque, New Mexico, was established as a Teacher Base in mid-March of that year. After a year in personal ministry with his primary T/R Gerdean, Tomas was invited to intern with Teacher Daniel in SE Idaho. In 1994-95 Teacher Daniel and Teacher Tomas co-hosted as "the dynamic duo." Tomas was then assigned to a Teacher Base in Pittsburgh PA, where he served 1996-1999, making inroads into New York and Canada, simultaneously facilitating the new Butler PA group. Tomas served in 2000 as a visiting lecturer with Elyon's Northern Idaho group and in 2001 revisited the Spokane Teacher Base with Teacher Aaron and Teacher Paulo. In early 2002 Tomas returned to New Mexico to assume the leadership of the Teacher Base inaugurated nine years earlier, as the Rio Rancho TeaM. For two years Tomas co-taught with Teacher Anatolia and was eventually assisted by Teacher Merium. Tomas was a Cultural Anthropologist on his native world in a nearby universe. In his former mortal life Tomas had a wife named Janus; they raised four sons.

TEACHER MERIUM

Teacher Merium emerged from the Butler, Pennsylvania, group during the time Tomas was assigned to the Pittsburgh PA teacher base, 35 miles away. The two groups kept Tomas so busy, Merium emerged to help manage the many students who loved to gather with her. When Tomas transferred out of Pittsburgh, Merium stayed to follow through with the established Teacher bases. When they eventually dissolved, she was called forth to assist Tomas again, this time in the Rio Rancho TeaM. Tomas bid the group adieu for a time, to serve the Andover, Minnesota, group, and left Merium in charge of the Rio Rancho TeaM. She billed herself as our "babysitter" and entertained us until the end of our days. As a mortal, she was beloved by all the village children, to whom she catered. She died young, without having married or had children of her own. Merium loved to tell stories, sometimes bedtime stories, to her TeaM students. She was never threatening or overbearing. In fact, she would often come in after a long lecture by Teacher Tomas or Teacher Anatolia to fluff up the pillows and to open the windows of our mind to let in the fresh air, but given the chance, she could teach as well as any.

TEACHER MARY, The Magdalene

About the time the DaVinci Code came out, and rumors of the intimate and personal nature of the relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene began to take center stage, Mary began transmitting her presence and her messages through the Woods Cross group, in company with Teacher Abraham, and through their customary group T/R, Ellanor. It has been a true pleasure getting to know the essence of this woman, who knew and loved the Master, as she relays many experiences from her life and times, and the many lessons learned by and through her association with Him. Through her sharing, we come to better know and appreciate the Jesus we all love, the one altogether lovely among men.

TEACHER RAYSON

Rayson is an ascending son, having been a resident on Edentia, who volunteered and was chosen for this Teaching Mission assignment which is a unique situation in all of the worlds. Teachers have been given permission to give advanced truth to the world, such as is taught as far as Jerusem. They have been trained thoroughly in the language(s) and religion(s) as well as modern thought. They understand the many difficulties inherent in such an assignment and have been prepared to meet any exigency. They exist on a different/other perception-reality and so we cannot see them, but they are actually present and they can see our presences quite readily.

TEACHERS OLFANA and AFLANA

Teacher Alfana emerged in Sarasota, Florida, where she taught extensively before she showed up in the Half Moon Bay teacher base in Northern California. She seems to be the essence of a flower child, as many of her lessons relate to flower essences, chakra adjustments, color visualizations, energy transmission and healing. It was the ministry of Alflana, as well as Teacher Signa and Celestial Artisan Tarkas that paved the way for Teacher Olfana.

There has never been a more delightfully demonstrative Teacher than Olfana. She was noted for her enlivened presentation, her personality expression, arms waving in the air, gesturing in a magnificent embrace, reaching to the heavens, bestowing her blessings, and never once running into anything, never getting tangled up in the wires or hitting the microphone. Her freedom was refreshing, and we loved her primary T/R, Susan K., for allowing the freedom of expression that we recognized instantly as Olfana. Olfana came from a world more primitive and brutal than ours is. She had been used and abused in her mortal life. No wonder she celebrates her freedom now in her most loving attitude, in her most gracious acceptance of all creatures, great and small.

THE TEACHERS OF SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY
ALISTA, HILSON, LORIYANA, HILSON, RAMSEY AND MELCHIZEDEK MANUTIA

Their term of service ran from September 1, 1993 until May 15, 1994, and on June 1, 1994, the Students of San Luis Obispo wrote:

"We present this publication as our own personal record of lessons in the Teaching Mission, as well as for the enjoyment & edification of all truth seekers, our brothers and sisters who strive toward light and who attempt to live lives steeped in truth, beauty and goodness.

"When reviewing these lessons, be mindful that they are in a sense mere shadows and reflections of the fullness of the Teaching Mission experience itself. The Teaching Mission is not found in these transcripts alone.

"What is missing here is the range of relationship & example which extends beyond the spectrum of mere words - the silent ministry of the teachers and the healing camaraderie of souls on the quest of spirit. What is not captured here is the enfoldment of faith, nurtured in the stillness, ever reaching homeward to our Father, while reaching outward in service impulse. What cannot be recorded on paper is the love, the joy that emanates from our beloved teachers who, with gentle persuasion, lighten our path to spiritual existence. This is where you will find the Teaching Mission.

THE MIDWAYERS
JACK, SHARMON, DANI

The United Midwayers are utilized by The Teacher Corps to contact mortals.

"Midwayers are not men, neither are they angels, but secondary midwayers are, in nature, nearer man than angel; they are, in a way, of your races and are, therefore, very understanding and sympathetic in their contact with human beings; they are invaluable to the seraphim in their work for and with the various races of mankind, and both orders are indispensable to the seraphim who serve as personal guardians to mortals."

THE CELESTIAL ARTISANS
BAKIM, TARKAS, ATHENA, DAPHNE

The Artisans convey visualizations which are worth a thousand transmitted words.

"Although celestial artisans do not personally work on material planets, such as Urantia, they do come, from time to time, from the headquarters of the system to proffer help to the naturally gifted individuals of the mortal races. When thus assigned, these artisans temporarily work under the supervision of the planetary angels of progress. The seraphic hosts co-operate with these artisans in attempting to assist those mortal artists who possess inherent endowments, and who also possess Adjusters of special and previous experience."

MOTHER NEBADONIA

Just as the Father loves us, so does the Mother. Recently "the Goddess" has been making inroads into human consciousness, opening up the concept of a nurturing God, a gentle and ministering Spirit. This concept has enlarged our appreciation for Deity and for the human condition as well. Tapping into this infinite font of divine affection has had a profound affect on those who T/R her essence. And how we love to be taken into her loving arms, there to be comforted beyond all human understanding.

CHRIST MICHAEL

Human and divine, our Father/brother Michael is the Wayshower. In our personal relationship with Him, He leads us into the Light of Love and brings us the peace that passes all understanding. He is our Creator and our Great Friend. Of course, he is the MASTER TEACHER, Teacher of Teachers, and when He visits us, we are made more than we were. We are revitalized, strengthened, and made ready to return to the work of the realm, there to serve as He taught us, and to love others as He loves us.
